Thomas L. Caisses energy, enthusiasm, outspoken-no-nonsense attitude and unfailing love of the Morgan breed have helped take Kohler Stables to the top of the industry. Caisse joined the Kohler Stables staff as an assistant trainer in 1975. Within two short years he was promoted to manager and trainer, in charge of running the entire Kohler operation. Armed with a carefully formulated picture of what he wanted in a Morgan Horse, Caisse began implementing a breeding program that has had an enormous impact on the Morgan breed. He carefully studied bloodlines which he then cross-referenced with horse show results. Using this approach has paid off brilliantly and offspring from the Kohler breeding shed have been marching into the winners circle at Oklahoma since the mid 1980s.
Caisses expertise however, is not just limited to the breeding shed. During his 40 plus years in the show ring the list of horses he has partnered reads like a whos who in the Morgan world. Irish Lane, Irish Hawk, Legacys Viking HVK Cimarron, HVK Grand Entrance, HVK Frango, HVK Derigueur, Noble Flaire, HVK Bell Flaire, and HVK Fancy Dan, are just a few of the horses Caisse has taken into the winners circle. Although he no longer shows in-hand or under saddle, he is always behind the lines of the Kohler Park Harness and Pleasure Driving horses. And, he is the one of the driving forces behind the success of Kohler Stables.
